Strengthening health systems across Liberia since 1975
The Christian Health Association of Liberia (CHAL) is a faith-based, umbrella organization dedicated to providing holistic Christian healthcare services to people in Liberia. In 1975 the medical authorities of main stream Christian hospitals (Curran Lutheran, Phebe, Ganta United Methodist, St. Joseph’s Catholic and ELWA) realized that they would significantly reduce transaction time and the cost of medical supplies if they procured together in bulk. The over whelming advantages in the newly discovered scheme quickly propelled these hospitals toward the formation of the Christian Health Association of Liberia. Working through a network of 80 faith-based health facilities, the membership of CHAL is currently spread in twelve of the fifteen counties of Liberia.
